TroubledProduction: Moore and company had to be very careful about filming in the parknoteAllegedly at least, since filming within the park is a regular occurrence, with countless personal home videos or Website/YouTube vlogs existing unhindered/note. Otherwise, I would recommend this to people who casually watch movies who don't care for interpreting and questioning a film so much. Escape From Tomorrow is an unique ride by Guerrilla Cinema, surreal creepy horror-fantasy, B-Movies, mad scientist pictures, Disney characters and the list. The least I can say is that I was absolutely entertained and intrigued during the whole film. This would hopefully be the case, as this sounds pretty reasonable. There was most likely a reason for this because they probably had to rush it out to the public and try not to get in legal trouble, which is what I believe. Jim (Roy Abramsohn) is a doughy dad on a Disney vacation with a pair of cute. Randy Moores directorial debut is like nothing youve seen. Don't get me wrong, the special effects and editing has it's fair share of being good and bad, but it was mostly bad during the 2nd act, and some in the 1st and 3rd act. The most provocative film from Sundance, ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW should not exist, and yet it does. It seemed rushed, looked extremely lazy and looked really bad, in general, especially in a bunch of the scenes where the characters are filmed behind a green screen with footage playing behind the characters, with terrible special effects. The editing was, to be quite frank, absolutely shoddy and not good. Another complaint that I have had was the editing, and is another big one. Another problem that I have had was how the characters felt really two-dimensional and didn't do much for me, as they were basic and simplistic. Just to clarify, I don't expect the answers to be spoon fed to me, but it would've been nice to give clues that led up to the events that had happened, and interpret from there. While his family frolics through the park and is enthralled with the sights and sounds of Disney, Jim finds himself inexplicably obsessed with two French teenage. This was just a big problem for me with the whole film, it lacked substance and felt empty and hollow. Storyline: Escape from Tomorrow (2013) In this black comedy, Jim is an unsatisfied middle aged man on vacation with his family at Disney World. Here's the thing, I can enjoy movies that are random just to be random, but the randomness has to have a purpose, otherwise, it doesn't mean anything at all. I have had plenty of questions after the film that weren't answered subtly in the film or just in general. However, the movie (to me) felt like a mixed bag that could have had more substance to it. As a movie, Escape From Tomorrow is at best pretty good, but the way it was made makes it something unique, possibly memorable. Let's just get that out of the way first. It was absolutely daring, interesting, and was absolutely surreal and impressive for what it accomplished. To start this review off, I enjoyed the movie for what it was.
